We are a vibrant and inclusive Catholic school under the Patronage of Most Rev. Larry Duffy, Bishop of Clogher. At present we have approximately 230 students and a staff of 22 which includes an Administrative Principal, classroom teachers, Special Education teachers, SNA, secretaries and caretaker.

The location of St Louis GNS truly offers ‘the best of both worlds’. In the extensive grounds of St Louis Convent Park, we have beautiful woodlands with mature trees and rich biodiversity, spacious green areas, walking tracks, a lake which is home to valuable wildlife, a man-made crannóg and immediate access to the fabulous Monaghan Town Greenway…all the while we are directly adjacent to the centre of Monaghan Town.

In St Louis GNS, the Board of Management, Staff and Parents work in partnership to provide a caring, nurturing environment for the children of our school,. We endeavour to ensure an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust, where each individual is valued and difference is respected. We are committed to providing a high quality learning environment that promotes motivation, well-being and achievement of each child’s own potential. We are committed to ensuring we foster an awareness and appreciation of Irish culture as well as the diverse cultural backgrounds of our school community.

Through our curriculum, and extra curricular pursuits, we aim to enable each child to flourish and develop holistically. We value and promote the importance of cooperation, collaboration and communication so  our children realise the importance of teamwork, trust and empathy as they take their place as citizens of our wider community and life long learners.
