On Tuesday afternoon we had a very special celebration in the school hall to mark the double retirements of Mrs Farrell and Mrs Mc McKenna, both of whom have worked in our school for the past 37 years. The staff and pupils, led by Deputy Principal, Mrs Gallagher, had been very busy preparing for the occasion for a number of weeks. Everything had been kept top secret, so neither of the soon-to-be retirees had any idea what to expect!  It was a wonderful afternoon with the pupils treating all those present to a concert of music, singing, movement and drama.  Presentations were made by Chairperson of the Board of Management, Mr. Packie McAdam, Chair of the Parents’ Association, Mrs Karen Prunty and Principal of St. Louis Infant School, Mrs Carmel Mc Carroll, all of whom thanked the ladies for their enormous contribution to the school. The staff and children also presented the two ladies with floral bouquets, Memory Books and an array of gifts. Mrs Farrell and Mrs McKenna were both very emotional and said they were extremely proud of our outstanding girls.
