Mrs. Cunningham’s 4th class were delighted to take part in the CraftEd project this year under the direction of Mrs. Flynn. Mrs. Flynn was joined by an artist to run the project. The artist was Mary Murphy, a jewellery- maker from Armagh.
The project’s theme was ‘The Secret Garden’ as the girls had been reading that novel at school. The girls learned an etching technique using tin, wax and an electrical current. They painted their etchings and used these as printing plates in the press.
They also used their tin to create a door to the secret garden.
4th class enjoyed the project immensely and learned so much.
Massive thanks to Mrs. Flynn for organising the project and to Mary for teaching us so much.
