Mrs. Cunningham’s 4th class had a very special treat on Thursday 22nd March when they were given a tour of the Courthouse in Monaghan town. They were shown around the courtrooms and were lucky enough to be allowed to sit on the judge’s chair! They learned all about the day to day running of the courthouse and what happens during a court session.
They also saw downstairs in the cells, the judge’s chamber and the jury room.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed their tour and learned a lot. Thanks to Pauline from Monaghan County Museum who organised and led the tour, alongside Paddy the caretaker of the courthouse.
