On Monday 12th February, our two 6th classes and the senior girls on the Green Schools’ Committee visited the laboratory of the Environmental Protection Agency in Monaghan. The visit arose from an invitation to our girls by Ms. Regina McGinn of the EPA, who facilitated a series of Junior Achievement workshops with our 6th classes back in December. Regina also kindly included the Green Schools’ Committee in her invitation. The committee is currently working towards the Water Flag and  some of the experiments being conducted in the EPA lab on Monday dealt with the area of Water Conservation.

The girls enjoyed a wonderful visit and relished the hands-on experience of working in a lab environment! We are very grateful to Regina and the staff of the EPA for their warm hospitality.
